"The Panda Express Beijing Beef is a wildly popular choice, proving that the concept was a success. The bell peppers and onions give a delicate, delectably sweet contrast to the spicy beef, and the breading maintains its crunch on the outside while being coated in the sweet, spicy, sticky sauce".
Yield: 4 SERVINGS

Total time: 25 MINUTES
Cuisine: Asian/Chinese
Category: Lunch/Dinner
Ingredients:
For the Meat:
+ 1.5 lbs ( 680g) flanks steak , cut into 1/2 inch strips
+ 1 tsp of salt and ground black pepper
For Breading:
+ 1/2 cup (70g) cornstarch
+ 3/4 cup (113g) flour
+ 2 medium eggs (beaten)
+ 1.5 tbsp of water
For Sauce and vegetables :
+ 1/2 yellow bell pepper(or red bell pepper)
+ 1/2 green bell pepper(or orange bell pepper)
+ 1/2 yellow diced onion
+ 3 cloves of minced garlic
+ 1 Panda Express Beijing beef sauce (19.5 oz)
or you can make your own sauce if you'd like.
Instructions:
1. Cut the flank steak into 1/2-inch strips.
2. Season the steak with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
3. In a mixing bowl, crack one large egg. Add the water and mix together until combined.
4. In a separate mixing bowl , mix together the flour, cornstarch, salt , and ground black pepper. Then coat the meat in flour, egg, and flour. Place it on a platter.
5. In a hot skillet filled with oil, fry the beef in batches so it won't be too crowded inside the pan. Fry the beef until it's golden brown on all sides.
7. In a preheated pan with 2 tablespoons of melted butter, sauté the vegetables for about 1–2 minutes. Add the fried beef and Beijing beef sauce. Mix together until well combined.
8. Remove the Beijing beef from the heat. Transfer to a platter. Serve it nice and hot. Enjoy!!
Note: You can make your own Beijing Beef Sauce if you prefer, but for me, I preferred a ready-made sauce to make this recipe easy, quick, and yet so delicious.
Also, never omit the onions. Even though some individuals may not like them, the onions and bell peppers are crucial for bringing the dish's flavors together. The onions and peppers help balance out the sweetness by adding a small amount of bitterness. If you don't already genuinely detest onions, I guarantee you'll be attempting to snag any extra pieces.
