Total time: 55 MINUTES
Cuisine: American
Category: Lunch/Dinner
Ingredients
For the meat:
+ 1 lb ground beef
+ 1/4 cup soy sauce
+ 2-3 tbsp. rice vinegar
For the vegetables:
+ 2-3 large potatoes
+ 1 yellow onion (diced)
+ 3 cloves of minced garlic
For the sauce:
+ 2 cups of tomato sauce ( I used Prego)
+ 2 tbsp. salted butter
Instructions:
1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices.
2. Wash it in cold water a couple of times and drain the water.
3. In a pot filled with 4 cups of water, boil the potatoes for at least 2 minutes, then dry them on a paper towel.
3. While the potatoes are drying, in a mixing bowl, mix together the ground beef, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and fresh ground black pepper.
4. In a hot pan with 2 tablespoons of melted butter, sauté the onion and garlic until they're caramelized.
5. Add the seasoned ground beef and stir until cooked. Then add the tomato sauce and stir until combined.
6. When it's cooked, pour it into a pan. Then place the thin slices of potatoes on top of the beef and shape them like rose petals. Brush the top with some oil.
7. Bake it at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove it from the oven and add some shredded cheese.
8. Bake it again for another 10 minutes to melt the cheese.
9. Serve it nice and hot. Enjoy!!!
Note: You can bake the potatoes until they're golden brown and crunchy for more than 30 minutes; it depends on what type of oven you use. Therefore, keep an eye on them and set your timer. Also, serve this potato lasagna nice and hot while the potatoes are crunchy, but be careful not to burn yourself.
